1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using UMBRA, you agree to follow these Terms and any future updates. If you do not agree, you must stop using the system.

2. User Responsibilities

Users agree to:

• Provide accurate information when creating an account
• Keep login credentials confidential
• Use the system for legitimate academic or tutoring purposes only
• Avoid actions that may disrupt or damage the system

Any misuse may result in account suspension or removal.

3. Access and Use of the System

You are granted a limited, non-transferable right to use UMBRA.

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, modify, or copy system components
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access
• Use the system for harmful, illegal, or abusive activities

4. Content Ownership

All content within UMBRA—including lessons, quizzes, modules, and system materials—belongs to the system owners and contributors.

Users may not:

• Redistribute, resell, or publicly publish system content
• Claim ownership of materials provided by tutors or administrators

5. User-Generated Data

User submissions (quiz answers, schedules, messages, etc.) remain part of UMBRA’s system data.

We may use this data to:

• Provide system features
• Improve performance and analytics

We do not sell or share this data with third-party advertisers.

6. System Availability

We aim to keep UMBRA running smoothly. However, we cannot guarantee that the system will always be:

• Error-free
• Available without interruption
• Free from technical issues

Maintenance or outages may occur.

7. Limitation of Liability

UMBRA is not responsible for:

• Data loss caused by technical issues
• Incorrect information provided by users or tutors
• Misuse of the platform
• Consequences of unauthorized account access due to user negligence

Users accept the system “as is” and use it at their own risk.

8. Account Termination

We may suspend or delete accounts that:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in harmful or abusive actions
• Compromise system security

Users may also request account deletion at any time.

9. Updates to Terms

We may update these Terms as needed. Continued use of UMBRA means you agree to any new changes.

Student & Tutor User Agreement

1. General Responsibilities

All users must:

• Provide accurate information
• Use the platform respectfully and professionally
• Keep login details secure
• Avoid misuse or disruptive behavior

2. Student Responsibilities

Scheduling

• Book sessions based on tutor availability
• Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours before the scheduled session
• Late cancellations may lead to forfeited fees

Payments

• Pay for sessions through the platform
• 10% of each payment is deducted as UMBRA’s platform fee
• Example: If the student pays ₱300, the tutor receives ₱270

3. Tutor Responsibilities

Service Delivery

• Conduct sessions professionally and on time
• Keep availability updated

Payments

• Accept that UMBRA deducts a 10% platform fee
• Receive payments only through the platform

Cancellations

• Avoid canceling sessions late; follow the 12-hour rule

4. Cancellation Rules

• Sessions may be canceled up to 12 hours before the session time

5. Conduct

Students and Tutors must:

• Use the system for academic purposes only
• Not engage in cheating or off-platform transactions

6. Platform Rights

UMBRA may:

• Review or suspend accounts
• Enforce the 10% platform fee
• Modify policies when needed

7. Agreement Acceptance

By continuing to use UMBRA, you confirm that you understand and agree to these terms.
